This category features candidates who did NOT receive their party's presidential nomination. They are known as "Hopefuls" or "Also-rans". Some launched exploratory campaigns themselves. Others were simply promoted as likely presidential possibilities. Some items were used in presidential primary campaigns, some were used at political conventions. Others were produced and sold by vendors at political rallies and events. Some candidates, like Harold Stassen and Ted Kennedy, inspired buttons during each election for decades!
