EPHEMERA: curious paper goods |
|
|
"EPHEMERA" are any paper items that were never meant to be saved or collected. Ephemera includes items from one-day events such as tickets, programs and menues, advertising pamphlets and cards, labels, wrappers and packaging, handbills, broadsides and posters. The "ephemeral" or temporary nature of these items suggest their scarcity, since most were destroyed or discarded after the event was over or the product was consumed. Surviving examples are prized by collectors.
